Contest Rules and Tips:
Each months' photo contest will be a different subject matter/concept. All are encouraged to enter the monthly contest at club meetings. Please follow the guidelines to ensure your entry is entered properly.
Entry is limited to TWO photographs per member per month.
1. Entry must be the proper subject matter. Please don't enter a portrait of a child if that months' contest is "clouds".

2. ALL entries are due on the FIRST Thursday of each month.

3. All entries are to be emailed to Robert White - olesniper@bellsouth.net

4. Entries shouldt be the proper size - somewhere between 500 and 750kb. If you aren't familiar with sizing you photos then Robert will size them for you once he gets them.

5. Your entry should be named properly.
Example- Use your name and the date as the file name. If you are entering two images then also include that information. Here's how to do the naming sequence -
NAME_DATE_SEQUENCE. If Mitzie Roush (for example) is entering only one image her file name would be MitzieRoush_Aug08.jpg. This tells us who's image it is and what month/year it was entered.
IF she entered two images she would use this file naming:
MitzieRoush_Aug08_1.jpg (this is her first entry). MitzieRoush_Aug08_2.jpg is her second entry.
Remember: you can't use additional periods (dots) or slashes ( / ) in file names. This is why we use the "under-score" ( _ ) to separate.

If everyone can learn to use this file naming system our contests will be very easy to keep organized and will go smoothly each month. If you have questions or problems please feel free to contact Jeff Roush or Clayton Hayes for help.

Robert wil post the monthly entries on our "Photo Bucket" web site for judging. This web address is on our "Google-Group" post. Each month will have it's OWN folder, so there will be no confusion.

VOTING - By the second Thursday of each month all images entered will be posted. Each member is encouraged to vote on their favorites each month on our "Photo Bucket" site. Please vote for your 4 favorites for that month and email you vote to Sheila Jacobi- sdj22691@gmail.com so she can talley them and announce winners at the next meeting.

Winners will receive recognition and will receive Member Points for their efforts. You can read the member points information in the constitution.

The Photo Club is sponsoring the "Shoot Dyer County" Photography Contest again in 2009 for the general public.
We will be making announcement soon as to the start dates and our plan for displaying and judging.

This contest will focus on photos taken within the borders of Dyer County in the calendar year 2009. The contest will be open to both amateurs and professional photographers. We plan to display this show at the Dyersburg Mall along with some other possible locations.

2008 Contest

Entries:
Cost $8.00 per entry
Photos must be 8x10 in size and mounted on White/Beige/Black mat or foam Board (11x14)

On the back of each entry must be the following information:

Entries are to include:
1. The above described printed / mounted photograph
2. CD with a copy the same image file (large file) entered to be used electronically.

Entries must be received no later than close of business on Oct 17th, 2008

Entry Rules:

1. Photograph Location must be in Dyer County (GPS Coordinates if available)

2. Normal PhotoShop development/retouching is allowed on all digital images.

3. All photos and digital images submitted must be original work of submitter.

4. All photos and digital images are non returnable. Complete Rights of Usage for use in publications, displays, and websites will be granted to The Dyersburg Dyer County Chamber, DSCC, Dyer County Government, City of Dyersburg, State Gazette, Dyer County Schools, Dyersburg City Schools, Mississippi River Corridor, Dyer County Historical Society, and other sponsors. The Dyersburg Mall and others are granted permission to display photographs based on entry into contest.

5. Photographers’ acknowledgement (credit) will be given on any photos used and/or published, but no other compensation, monetary or otherwise will be provided. \

6. Photographer agrees that we can supply any photograph to any local community organization for publication and use.

7. Entry is limited to 2 entries per person per category.
